Add event cover charge after receiving registrations

I sent out to my website invite months ago and have almost 100 registrations and now I want to add a ticket price.  I keep getting an error message that says "you cannot change the question audience after receiving live responses"

is there really no way to get my RSVP'd guests to add a donation?

  Hi Juli!

  Great question and totally understandable frustration!

  Unfortunately once live responses have been collected RSVPify does not allow you to change the question audience on existing form blocks, which is what is triggering that error message.

  Here is what you can do though. You can add a brand new Cash Donation or Gift block to your form without affecting any of your existing responses. This would allow your already registered guests to go back to their confirmation email, click the edit link and add a donation when they return to the form.

  To make sure your guests know about it you can send them an email through the Email Communications section letting them know you have added an optional donation to the event and inviting them to update their registration!

  Thank you!  It does help and I was able to do that but it wouldn't let me customize any of the questions.  I received one donation yesterday from a new person, but I can't explain what the fees go to.

  Hi Juli! Great news - you can absolutely add a description to explain what the donation is for! Here's how:

  1. Go to Form Builder in your event's left navigation menu.
  2. Scroll down to locate your Cash Donation or Gift block and click the settings (gear) icon at the top right of the block.
  3. In the Settings Menu that appears on the left, you'll see a Description field - this is where you can explain exactly what the funds/fees go toward (e.g., "Donations help cover the cost of the venue and catering").
  4. You can also use the Question field to customize the prompt your guests see, and optionally set a minimum donation amount with a custom message.
  5. Once done, click Save and republish your event. Your already-registered guests can return to their confirmation email, click the edit link, and will see your updated donation block with the explanation included. Hope that helps!
