Guest Of Column on Spreadsheet
When my attendees register, they have the option to add additional names for their guests. When those names are populated to the spreadsheet, they are shown as attendees. That is fine, but I need to know who they are the “Guest Of.” The “Guest Of” column on the spreadsheet exists, but is empty. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Fran,
Thank you for reaching out!It looks like the “Guest Of” column in your exported spreadsheet is meant to show which primary attendee each additional guest is linked to , but if that column is empty, it’s likely a setup issue rather than missing data.
Here’s what’s happening based on RSVPify’s documentation:
When a primary guest adds additional guests (plus ones) during registration, RSVPify automatically links those entries together in the guest list. In the event dashboard, you’ll see these guests nested under the main attendee (e.g., “Guest of [Primary Guest Name] 1”). However, when you export that list to a spreadsheet, the “Guest Of” field will only populate correctly if the system recognizes the parent-child relationship.
This link can fail to appear if:
-
The guests were added manually or imported separately, without a shared Group ID field connecting them.
-
The grouping logic didn’t apply correctly when they were added (for example, if someone edited guest limits or changed the registration order)
-
A known bug affected earlier exports, where unnamed or linked guests appeared as separate individuals, causing “Guest Of” data not to show up in exports
How to fix it:
-
Make sure each group of attendees shares the same Group ID (you can set this manually when importing or editing guests).
-
Avoid manually separating added guests into new rows; instead, let the “Add Guest” function inside the registration form create those links.
-
If you’re still seeing blanks, try re-exporting the guest list , RSVPify has rolled out fixes for how additional guests display in exports, and updated lists should now show “Guest of [Name]” correctly
In short, the “Guest Of” data is generated automatically when RSVPify recognizes the parent-guest relationship. If the field is empty, it usually means the linking (via Group ID or form-based grouping) didn’t apply properly when those guests were added.
