RSVP Ticketing Fee for Individual

Hi - I am a volunteer planning an event for the alumni of my university (and therefore not a business nor affiliated with an NGO, etc), and wanted to know if I can create an event with a ticketing fee. This is in order to split and cover the costs of the venue and food in an organised way. I tried to do this via Stripe but it doesn't seem possible for individuals. Thanks for your help!
